Share Your Noob Moment

We've all seen it before, been there, done that. We've
yelled "WTF" at this person or at ourself when there is a Noob
Moment
. That's right a moment where true human dorkiness sip out
like morning dew for a few seconds that ripples through out the guild
chat and sometimes beyond, with laughter.

These are the moments that makes everything just right at 3am. This is the kind of stuff that leaves any epic gear in dust, because it's what MMO is all about; interacting and having fun with massive players who are online. I know I have tons and sometimes it worries me. =P But let me share mine to kick this off.

Lets see.  I know the one that Nuuth still laughs about. This is back
when Nuclear Guild and Corruptus Animus was in a co-op mode and we
did our first run, the Crypt. Since this is our first impression run
we had to put on our best face and best foot foward. My best foot
forward was right before the first boss pull as Tim was explaing the
boss fight I look over the edge and said in Vent "Wow, this would be
a cool screen shot." and right after sploooooooooooosh and fell. It
dawned on the me that there was no guard rail (like in Mech or Bot).
The ditch being so deep I couldn't be rezzed and had to run back. Tongue

Heh... I had a complete N00b moment on Sunday during our recent Old Skool run.

After having heard people repeatedly say something about making sure you accepted a quest and go through all the chat bubbles when you're talking to Thrall to get to it...  Which for some reason I THOUGHT I'd done.... I found I hadn't. The dude in Desolace had no happy question mark over his head for me... I had to go back to Ogrimmar, talk to Thrall properly and fly all the way back. I wanted a shell I could sink into!!

i've had so many noob moments its hard to pick which to tell you! let's see ^.^ i've played a priest for almost a year and a half when this moment happened, i had just recently went alliance and had a 60 hunter, still getting the gist of playing a non-caster. i was raiding MC with the guild and was on vent. well... i was being totally blank and was trying to find some of my spells, i hear my GM talking to me asking me 'wtf are you doing, girl?' so, without thinking of what i was saying 'tryin to find my damn bar so i can heal' all of a sudden i hear everyone laughing... then i did a mental wake up and figured out i was a hunter... not a priest... all this during a fight now ^.^

that's just one of my many noob moments ^.^ guild thought it was hilarious but forgave me for not dpsing lol it was 5am *i was on an oceanic server, so raids were early in the mornings*

The smile on my face was short lived when I realized I was flying to Eastern Plague Lands just to ride back to Western Plague Lands.  This impressed Varz so much he made me leader of group 2

The best I've seen is my friend in EOtS forgot to mount up before the battle and ran all the way to the middle flag.  I had to stop and watch him for a bit before I asked if he had lost his mount.

Ahh the noob days, we have all lived them, some longer than others. Myself I was in noob stage until level 69 with Marimu  Shocked. No, but in all seriousness on my first toon I ever made which was a druid on Doomhammer, I never knew about talent points. At level 27 I finally realized what the talent tree was and I felt completely noob.

I had the same noob moment as well Marimu, I think I was round lv 25 before I figured it out.

Other noob moment I had wasn't too long ago. We were all in vent and everyone kept saying DOT him up. I kept thinking to myself wtf is DOT. So acting like a noob I asked. Amongst the outburst of laughter that issued Tim was nice enough to give me the answer. I felt like such a noob and I felt so small about the size of Marimu's penius.

The only one I can actually think of (although I know there are more) was playing on my first character as a rogue on a PvE server and sneaking into Orgrimmar (yes I played alliance) thinking that if I snuck past the guards I could then pop out of stealth and check out the city. Was a little surprised I was flagged for pvp being in an enemey capital and being attacked by a bunch of level 60's all the time wondering WTF?

Oh man I know Kow will love this one.

We were doing Heroic Manatombs and the time was around 3am. Everyone was getting burned and tired so we decided to call it a night. Vichal and Kow just entered the instance (about 20sec after me) and were healing up.  I Really thought if you pull a mob and no one attacks it, it will just reset automatically if the puller dies or run out of the instance. With that in mind I pull one for the giggles and ran out.  Next thing I hear in Vent was...

(Kow and Vichal dies)
Kow "WTF was that? Why the hell did those mobs attack us?"
Marimu "I don't know"
Var "(quiet)"
Var "(quiet)"
Var "(quiet)"
Var "Oops"
Marimu "Hahaha"
Var "Sorry I pulled it"
Kow "Why the hell would you pull it?"
(Var explains)
Marimu "hahahahahahahahah"  <-- Bastard!!!

I had my NOOB moment last night. This is why I dont loot bosses. I am a loot clutz. I have accidently picked up things that are not for me because well Im not freakin paying attention like I should be! Sorry about the pants Jouiant.

We finish Opera House: Wizard of OZ on our second try last night. (Awesome job all! 4 boss events in 3 1/2 hours!) I was hi on Karazhan crack so against my better judgment I loot the boss. (Other guild officers slap my wrist if I reach for anything again -- BAD NUUTH!) The Crone has dropped.

[Blue Diamond Witchwand]
and
[Earthsoul Leggings]

After this I have taken another hit of Karazhan crack cause the wand is on my list of things for Nuuth from Karazhan. I say "Im going to need that wand!" I click and it says you have selected need for [Earthsoul Leggings] In my head Im screaming No! No! No! Not again! I say someone roll need pryaing they will beat me.

Nuuth rolls 25
Jouiant rolls 24

SONOFABITCH!
Sorry again Jouiant.

Moral of the story Tim Tim does not loot.  Shocked

Ah Another Noob (idiot) Moment.

As a Mage you get dumb ass tells like "Gib Me Water", (open trade) "Water plz" and stuff like that. As GM sometimes I get tells like "I wantz invite to ur guild. itz cul" or "i have 3 kids, mortage, job..blah blah.. can i get an invite without apping". So naturally I developed this keen sense of auto instant reject mode (AIRM) when I'm in my mage.

#1 "Invite my Alt""

I was in Nagrand farming some motes and I get a tell asking for a guild invite. In the statement it had something with cow and tipping written. I thought what kind of a dumb farm sh-- is this and AIRM (Auto Instant Reject Mode) kicks in with my reply.

"F--- Off Noob"
Later on only to find out it was KOWTIPPIN!!!!! And just got a message saying (regarding alt)
Quote
...so if you get a whisper from him don't tell to F off again. Cheesy

#2 "Enchant my sh--"
Just getting out of BG and some dude walks over and open trade and put his weapon in and says

I want Savagery

Realize I just came out of BG and all pumped and this dude just open trade for an enchant? Instantly I said

"F--- OFF"

It was Matadorian pulling my legs! LOLOL

Last night...

I had heard of this terror of a bear "...an agile and clever beast" according to legend. The bear's name is Ursius and I and my partner Babidoll wre in search. We had caught a glimpse of Ursius once before but the demon proved elusive and lost us somehow (perhaps we stopped to take a sip of Jack Daniels, I do not recall). Now, with guidance from our informants on Thottbot, we knew where to look and we were determined to surprise the bear, attack it with fervor and take it's hide as our prize.

We had seperated to cover more ground. Babidoll was below, quite some distance away, and I was atop the hills carefully scanning the snow covered slopes. Hit 'M' and look at the map...hit "M" again back to player screen...scan the hills....walk carefully a little to the north...a little to the south. I do not see Ursius the agile. Now I stand at the very peak of the mountain where we had seen Ursius before, and been denied. I look down on every side and see no bear.

Hit "M" and look at map. Looking at map...looking at map...spending too long looking at map. Where the hell is that damned bear? Hit "M" to go back to player screen and ZANGO I am looking down upon Marwark as the last bear paw swipe decapitates my hapless toon and he drops to his knees daggers undrawn, stupid troll smile still on his face, blood on the fresh fallen snow. Ursius had seen me reading that stupid map and had destroyed me without my ever taking action.

Babidoll laughed as I cursed the menace of a bear. " I wondered why your health was dropping so fast" she remarked as I waited for her to come res the poor dumb troll I had left to die while I read a freakin' map.

If I get to LVL 70 with that being my stoopidest noob moment I will consider myself lucky.

Please don't feed the bears,

When I first started playing WoW, I learned everything from my 10 year old son. He regularly reminded me of my noob status by saying things like "Mom, see that little red guy at the top of the screen, you might want to go repair your armor..." And "Mom, if you talk to that guy with the green question mark over his head, he will let you fly on his birds ...". Cool.

My main Alliance character on another server is named "Imlost", so named because I could never find my way around. If I ever die in an instance and there is no one to rez me, someone else better die too, so I can follow them back!

After 2 years of WoW, I'm still lost. I recently went down into a complicated (at least to me) cave with a long ramp. Not wanting to kill all the stuff on the ramp, I jumped off and easily retrieved the quest item at the bottom. Now to get back out of there... OMG, I can't figure out how to get back up on the ramp.. Where does it end??? Hearthstone is on cooldown.... I guess I'll commit suicide and use the Spirit Healer. Resurrection Sickness sucks...
